Are Your Podcasts Easily Discoverable?

Are you making it easy for podcast listeners to find your podcast on their favorite podcast app? In today’s episode, I’m sharing my new strategy to ensure that your podcast is available and easily accessible to everyone.

Why Multiplatform Accessibility is Crucial for Podcasters

We often default to Apple and Spotify, but they aren’t the only podcast platforms. To increase your reach, it’s crucial to be available on multiple platforms like Overcast, Podcast Addict, Pocket Casts, Castbox, Podbean, iHeartRadio, Player FM, and many more.

Creating a Podcast Links Page

I recommend creating a podcast links page on your website. Here’s why:

  1. Brand Authority: Having a branded links page on your website not only fortifies your brand but also appears more professional than linking out to third-party pages.
  2. Traffic and SEO: Redirecting traffic to your website helps improve your SEO and builds authority with search engines like Google.
  3. Consistency and Convenience: A centralized links page simplifies updates. If a podcast player changes, you only need to update your links page rather than every individual blog post.

How To Create Your Own Podcast Links Page

Tools like Podlink can simplify this process by pulling links to various players, but I recommend building a customized page on your website to enjoy the benefits mentioned above.

  1. Gather All Necessary Links: Collect links from major podcast players where your show is listed.
  2. Design Your Page: Create a visually appealing and easy-to-navigate links page.
  3. Keep It Updated: Use a global module to drop into your blog posts, ensuring it’s easy to update.

Utilizing Customized Podcast Player Icons

To further enhance your page, customize your podcast player icons to match your brand. I’ve created a free Canva template with detailed instructions, available in the show notes of this episode.

Putting It Into Practice

Here’s how I use my links page:

  1. Home Page Links: On clockinginpodcast.com, visitors can access show notes and podcast player links directly.
  2. Episode Blog Posts: Each blog post has a link to my podcast links page, making it easy for users to choose their preferred platform. (This is newer and we’re still working on updating old content.)
  3. Promotions and Events: At events, I use QR codes that link directly to my podcast links page, catering to podcaster looking for new shows or podcasters to connect with.

Final Tips for PodLinks

  1. Link Back: Always link back to your show notes or homepage from your podcast links page to keep users engaged with your content.
  2. Stay Updated: Regularly review the platforms you are available on and ensure all links are active.
