If this year has taught me a lesson, it’s to embrace the moment and be all there. As we head into a new year, I want you to slow down, take time to be still, and live in the moment you’re given. Rather than give you a wrap up of 2022, I want to give you encouragement for 2023.

I originally intended for this episode to look totally different! I wanted it to be a wrap-up of three lessons I learned this year in my business. But, after recording I realized it felt so disingenuous. That isn’t what I wanted to provide to you, my audience. I love keeping it real with you!

The first thing that inspired this whole topic was a quote I read recently, “Wherever you are, be all there.” This really struck me. It was what I needed to hear.

The reason this inspired me so deeply was because I was so caught up in my business and in working ahead for the holidays. I try to take the last week and a half of the year off completely for the holidays. I like to be completely available at the end of the year and spend time with family.

When I do that I have to work pretty far ahead, basically working double. With that, I lose a lot of time working on my own business. This is the time of year that most business owners are working on the next year, but because I’m devoting so much time to my clients I lose that. I found myself so completely overwhelmed trying to make up that time in my business.

That’s when I started working on Bonnie Bakhtiari’s podcast, specifically episode 250. In this episode she talks about three reasons to ditch perfection in setting goals for your next year. This episode really struck me. Bonnie mentions that while it is important to set goals in your business, it can wait. I realized, oh my gosh, it can wait! I don’t have to plan out 2023 before 2023 happens. I can turn around in January and set aside time to plan. It felt so relieving.

This brought me back to the quote, “Wherever you are, be all there. ” I don’t have to plan ahead right now, I can take time to be in the moment. I can spend time with my family and friends and dedicate my time to my client work. When I’m off, I can be off. When I return and I’m ready to plan fro 2023, I can be all there.
