The numbers behind your podcast episodes are important for understanding both the success of your podcast (if your goal is listenership) and in what content resonates with your audience. A few important number to consider tracking around your podcast download numbers include:

  • All-Time Downloads
  • Release Day Downloads (to determine potential number of subscribers)
  • Individual Episode Downloads
  • Player Sources
  • Top Episodes

The question you may have is “where do I find my podcast download numbers?” First, you’ll want to make sure you’re set up properly on a podcast hosting platform like Acast*, then you’ll want to make sure you’ve submitted your podcast to all of the podcast players. You can learn more about this process on this episode of Clocking In with Haylee Gaffin.

Once you’ve set up your podcast on your podcast hosting platform, you’ll want to log in and view the Insights or Analytics! Since I’m a big fan of Acast, I’ll walk you through step by step of finding your analytics.

  1. Log into Acast.
  2. Select Insights from the Menu.
  3. Select your show from the dropdown.
  4. Review the overview by selecting your preferred date range.

You’ll be able to see all of the data mentioned above throughout the Insights section of Acast.
