If you’re preparing to launch your podcast, one of the most important steps is the RSS feed submission process—but what happens when you go to submit to Apple Podcasts and you don’t have an Apple ID or an Apple product? You’re a little stuck.

As a podcast launch strategist, I’ve run into this with a few clients before. Ultimately, I end up making them an Apple ID on my own device and confirming the accounts. I wanted to create an easy tutorial if you’re not working with someone who has an Apple device!

How to Create an Apple ID for Apple Podcasts

First things first, you’ll want to create an Apple ID for yourself/your podcast. It’s possible to create an Apple ID without an Apple device, but you do have to connect to an Apple program like Apple TV, Apple Music, iTunes for Windows, or go through Apple’s website.

Head to one of the apps above or to account.apple.com and click Create Your Apple Account. Fill out the details—the email address and password you provide will be your Apple ID and login information.

Next, you’ll enter your payment method and billing information. You won’t be charged until you make a purchase, but it is required in order to confirm your account.

Check your email for a verification email from Apple and verify your email address.

By confirming your account, you should now have access to an Apple ID, which can be used to submit your RSS Feed to Apple Podcasts! Happy podcasting!
