Making the Most of In-Person Events as a Podcaster
We just wrapped up the first-ever Mic Check Retreat in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and I’m beyond excited to share some tips on how you can make the most out of in-person events as a podcaster. Whether you’re at a big expo or a cozy retreat, these tips will help you build connections, snag sponsorships, and grow your podcast.
Connect with Future Podcast Guests
Events are perfect for meeting potential podcast guests. Make it super easy for them to book an interview with you—whether it’s through a QR code or a quick follow-up on Instagram. Don’t forget to personalize your message, especially at bigger events!
Network with Vendors for Sponsorships
If you’re heading to an event with vendors, do some homework beforehand. Figure out who you want to connect with and start those conversations. You never know—it could lead to some awesome sponsorship deals for your podcast.
Make It Easy for People to Follow Your Podcast
Have a quick and easy way for people to follow or subscribe to your podcast, like a QR code on your name tag or a lock screen on your phone. It’s all about making that connection in the moment!
Sponsor Events with Your Podcast
Think outside the box! Your podcast can sponsor parts of an event, even if it’s not podcast-related. From swag to drink sponsorships, there are lots of creative ways to get your podcast’s name out there.
